Health and Safety News - December 2009

Welcome to our new look Newsletter which will now be sent to you monthly.
We would like to start this months newsletter by wishing everyone a Happy Christmas and prosperous 2010.

Following a decision by Tesco to use only competent facility suppliers, we have seen an influx of Site Managers Safety Training and Supervisors Safety Training Courses . As accredited to CITB we run these acclaimed courses and have been busy informing new company members through to directors as to their responsibilities.
We are now in discussion with AEG, UBS and South Eastern Electrical to carry out long term training for their staff.

RB PROPERTY MAINTENANCE

As we strive to be more health and safety aware, through our continual training policy one of our Managers has taken and passed the Construction Skills SMSTS Course to improve understanding of all health and safety aspects in building situations.

Our electrical apprentice has also taken and successfully passed the SSSTS Supervisors'Course.

RB ELECTRICAL DIVISION

Following on with the aim to gain Hotel Chains, RB Services have moved forward with regular testing and inspections of Citadine Hotel’s electrical systems.

Each hotel employ a full time maintenance person but all required electrical works are carried out by RB Services Electrical Division.

darwinA £200,000 fine was levied against a construction firm for the deaths of two workers. The two 28-year-old men, reportedly experienced in their work, fell 100 feet after drilling a hole through thick concrete without realizing they were standing in the centre of the circle. Neither was wearing a safety harness to arrest his 8-story plunge.
