Health and Safety News - January 2010
Welcome back to an interesting and exciting New Year. We at RB Services cover the UK as a National provider of construction services.
Health & Safety Training Division is proud to have had a successful six months. Accreditation from CSkills means that we now run the complete batch of courses. Accreditation from the Association for Project Safety for the Management of CDM-Co Ordination allows us to give a diverse package to our existing clients and suppliers. In 2010 we aim to be adding IOSH & NEBOSH courses to our growing catalogue of courses run at RB Services. These new courses can be held at our Training Centre, nationally and at your offices, as always, contact for further details.

Property Maintenance Division 2009 was not the best of years for this department, but discussions with existing and potential clients in the past month have been very positive and productive, we are hoping to report growth in this area in the near future. In November 09 DTZ & Buying Force approved our company for general maintenance contracts. We carried out large works at a school during summer recess and plans are in place for a larger contract of this nature. RB Property Maintenance Division
Electrical Division take another step forward with The Ascott group. We begin the New Year with 10 week contract replacing Busbars in a constantly tenanted apartment building. Dan Parkes will be taking his final exams to complete his apprenticeship; we all wish Dan the best of luck. This will be our third completed apprenticeship in 3 years. Circular Reasoning 2000 Darwin Award Nominee Confirmed True by Darwin
A 24-year-old construction worker tied himself to a piece of scaffolding for safety while working on the 4th floor of the county jail annex. Forgetting he was attached to the metal, he tossed it to the ground, and was carried along for the ride. He landed on the scaffolding, which pierced both legs. He was treated for his injuries at hospital, and hopefully counselled on the use of his most important safety tool: his brain!
